What is the Big/Little Program?
The Big/Little mentorship programs provides both prospective and current students with the opportunity to develop and sustain mentoring relationships and friendships. Incoming students will be paired up with a current student. Students are typically paired based on what program they are in, their interests, and each student's hometown. This program provides incoming students with a familiar face on campus who can answer any questions or offer advice! Bigs also get the opportunity to give back by providing the same help that their Big had provided them when they first entered CHS! Throughout the year, big/little pairs will be able to participate in a plethora of activities, fostering a sense of community and comfort.
What is the time commitment required from members? |
Once assigned, Bigs will have one week to reach out to their Little. Bigs are required to attend a training session once a year, but there are no logged hours required from either the Big or the Little. We do, however, encourage engaging with your Big or Little multiple times throughout the semester. In addition, there will be many events for you to connect with your Big or Little! Many of our Big/Little pairs continue their relationship even when matriculating into graduate school!
